OpenLibraries has been formed to promote informed debate about the challenges posed, and the opportunities offered, by the adoption of open source software and services by the library and information community.  It is also there to assist in the implementation of open source projects.  OpenLibraries is an umbrella organisation formed by a collaboration between Ken Chad Consulting and PTFS Europe – both of which comprise individuals with a wealth of knowledge and experience in this sector.  

                    

OpenLibraries is able to offer access to a wide range of services including:

  • The promotion of conferences and seminars focussed on open source issues
  • Strategic consultancy
  • Executive briefings
  • Advice on some of the open source products and services available
  • Implementation, training and project management services
  • Ongoing support of leading open source products
